12 years ago, after meeting Michael Palmer for the first time, Carla Porter initially dismissed him as just a "nice guy." But then she saw a crown moulding installation of his. She explains, "You have to understand, these were prefinished mouldings and Michael's mitered joints were perfect - without sanding and filling! I got goosebumps. It almost made me cry." That was the beginning. Little did she know, Michael was about more than just crown moulding. He is the furniture and cabinet maker of her designer dreams. Since that special day, Michael Palmer and Carla Porter have been using a team approach to kitchen, bathroom, wet bar and furniture projects. And they both agree on one thing. Before they met, they did really good work. But together... they're pretty great.
owner of Palmer Woodworks, has been building custom kitchen cabinets and
furniture for over twenty five years. His ideas about how cabinets should be
built are old-fashioned - they should be built to last forever. Or at least -
close to forever.
A true artist,
Palmer has always worked with his hands. At first it was as a world-class lead
guitarist for bands such as Steppenwolf. But today he leads with wood instead
of with guitars. Under his careful eye, the hand-selected hardwoods and veneers
become heirloom quality cabinets and furniture for your home.
Now, his designer
kitchens and baths, entertainment centers, wet bars and bookcases are installed
all over Los Angeles, including the neighborhoods of Freemont Place, Hancock
Park, Windsor Square, Larchmont Village, Hollywood Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Beverly
Hills, Hidden Hills, Sherman Oaks and Encino.
